POSITION TITLE: Designer
Summary:
This position is responsible for designing all in house manufactured items to be the most cost effective, and production ready.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Enter specs for in house manufactured items
- Get all associated tooling costs
- Quantify the amount of rule for each cutting die based on the design to estimate a cost during quoting phase
- Design packaging based around customer product/use
- Communicate the steps of the design process and estimated timeframes for new orders. Ensure that the customer has a clear understanding of the approval process.
- Make samples for customer approval using CAD/Esko Table
- Follow up on sample approvals and respond to feedback from customers
- Assist customers in creating and/or adjusting graphic design files for their artwork using Adobe Illustrator prior to sending to our tooling vendors
- Promptly respond to design requests and communicate with customers to gain design approvals
- Propose solutions to quality issues related to design
- Ensure that any design changes resulting from quality issues are documented and communicated to the team and to the customer
- Utilize TOPs program to provide requested information to customers
- Manage Tooling Inventory / Purge dies as needed
- Manage tooling repairs by communicating any issues to our tooling vendors and coordinating pick ups and returns
- Manage Air Table Requests
